About Us

Thom and Gabrielle moved to Port Townsend in 2001 where they currently reside with Am/Can CH Déjà Vu Back Seat Driver, CGC, TDI, RE, PT, JHD-s, TT, BN, CD, HXCs, NDD, Am/Can RN "Nash", the six-year-old Briard. Briards have played a big part in their lives since 1994 when they met a huge English import in their then hometown, Juneau Alaska. They were instantly hooked and after some research acquired Am/Can Ch Chercher LaRoche Bonaparte Am/Can CD, CGC – Bones (1995-2004) a natural-ear tawny dog, and within a year, Houlette de la Nuit, CGC (1997-2006) a natural-ear black rescue bitch.

Gabrielle has always had animals in her life (at left - Gabi & Abbott, circa 1960).  Her dogs have included: Dachshunds, mixed breeds, a GSD, Dobermans, a GSP and last but certainly not least, Briards. When she is not working as a consultant for Shoreline Planning and Marine Resource Policy, she ventures into the breed ring, practices rally, obedience, herding and carting. Gabrielle was a founding board member of the Pacific Northwest Briard Club and currently serves as its President. She has been a member of the Briard Club of America since 1998 and currently serves on the Board of Directors and is a trustee for the Briard Rescue Trust. She is also an active member of the Hurricane Ridge Kennel Club , the All Breed Herding Club of Western Washington and the Pacific Northwest Herding Club.

Thom has had dogs for more years than he would care to count, including a Springer Spaniel, mixed breeds, an Irish Setter, a Bluetick Coonhound (photo at right) and, of course, Briards. A retired Actuary from the State of Alaska, Thom enjoys beach walks and games of fetch with Nash when he is not gardening, studying Spanish, riding his motorcycle or on the golf course.
